THE TARGETED BRAINSTORMER
An extensive questionnaire specifically designed to extract all the most useful information from your background, including character traits, impressive talents, strengths & weaknesses, work and academic experience, and personal anecdotes. All of this will comprise the raw content to be used in your essays and applications. This is the perfect tool to help you feel prepared and stress-free while going into your first brainstorming/strategy conference.
COLOR-CODED SPREADSHEET
Organization is key. This color-coded school tracker spreadsheet will be enormously helpful in allowing you to easily keep track of schools, deadlines, essay questions and word counts. It also features school specific GMAT ranges, post-graduation employment rates, tuition, class size, rankings, and all the important contact details and web links to help you streamline and comfortably navigate the application process.
BRAINSTORMER & STRATEGY CONFERENCE
During this first conference, you and your consultant will use The Targeted Brainstormer questionnaire as a springboard for narrowing down the content that will be used in all of your personal statements. By comparing and contrasting schools and their corresponding questions, your consultant will start fleshing out your personal narrative and help you strategize a plan of attack for each school. The goal being to paint a portrait of you as a candidate with enough different shades to uniquely differentiate you from other applicants and make you truly competitive.
OUTLINING & STRUCTURING CONFERENCE
Once all the content and questions have been decided on, your consultant will take you through a step-by-step outlining and structuring of each of your essays. Since we’ve done hundreds of these, there isn’t an essay question we haven’t seen before. Your consultant will help you craft structural blueprints that are so thorough, that by the time you type the first word of your initial drafts, you’ll be confident and ready. We will also recommend a variety of narrative storytelling techniques, such as framing devices, roadblocks and corresponding actions, set-ups and payoffs, to help you produce writing that is memorable, engaging and elicits an emotional reaction from adcom readers.
FINE-TOOTHED COMB ESSAY CRITIQUES X 2
Your consultant will provide a no-holds barred critique of your first drafts, complete with notes and suggestions relating to content, structure and tone. These will be embedded within the draft document itself for easy review. The previous step is then repeated. We’ll make sure your content, structuring, and narrative story devices are as tight as can possibly be.
FINAL EDIT & POLISH
After you complete a second revision, your consultant will finish the process with a comprehensive final edit and polish. We go directly into the document itself and provide you with an edit that cleans up grammar, bolsters style, and ensures structural integrity as well. You can keep track of every single one of these recommendations through the “track changes” feature in Microsoft Word. At this point, all of your personal statements will emerge clean, sharp, and ready to submit.
MBA RESUME - STRATEGY & EDIT
Your consultant will help you transform your current work resume into the ideal MBA resume. You’ll receive feedback on content, layout, and language. There’s often confusion on how much and what information to include for work, extracurriculars and volunteer experience. We’ll guide you through it in order to selectively disseminate the best possible and most relevant info.
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION - STRATEGY & EDIT
In order to strengthen the overall strategy of your application, your consultant will advise you on how to select the best recommenders in your pool, while making sure there’s a solid spread among them. You’ll filter what each recommender plans to cover through us. Then we’ll offer you suggestions to relay back to your recommenders. Some recommenders will even ask you to edit their letters yourself. In this case, you can share these letters with your consultant for editing support.
